Meet Dr. Thornton
Dr. Thornton, originally from southeastern VA, completed his undergraduate studies with a major in Biology at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. He earned his DDS from the School of Dentistry at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. Additionally, he completed an AEGD residency program which focused on the treatment of medically compromised and special needs patients at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, CA.
Dr. Thornton moved to Washington, DC in 2005 and practiced general dentistry at Whitman-Walker Clinic. He transitioned to private practice in 2008 and became a partner what is now Thornton Dental Associates, P.C. Dr. Thornton is a member of the American Dental Association, District of Columbia Dental Society and the Renaissance study club. He values opportunities to participate in continuing dental education and exposure to emerging advances in the field.
Dr. Thornton enjoys the challenges of general and cosmetic dentistry and considers the individual needs of patients through a patient-centered model of dental care.
